The liquid carrier system used is oil and solvent free, heat stable to 350oc, compatible with most plastics as well as being suitable for all processes. RapidFlow is a liquid and consequently is able to blend quickly with the substrate polymer to form a homogenous mixture. The colour component no longer needs to melt during the screw rotation. RapidFlow is an ideal choice for rotational moulding as it can deliver a much higher and consistent loading than either masterbatch or pre-coloured powders. Due to the high loadings possible RapidFlow provides effective and cost saving opportunities, usual addition rates are between 0.5 and 0.9%.
The amount of liquid being dosed can be easily controlled with the PS3000 pumping system. This colour control solution consists of a closed container, dosing pump, pipe and dosing tube. To install it takes very little time, the pipe is placed into the pump head after having been attached between the container and the machine. The automatic pipe lock enables the pump to become operational. This simple system delivers the correct dose of colour / additive every time, eliminating the potential for spillage and contamination.
